Welcome to Anna’s Eats! After more than a year of reading food blogs focusing on different topics- vegetarians, vegans, marathon runners, yoginis, raw foodist and weight maintenance just to name a few- I felt none of them truly spoke to me and my relationship to food. Although I love reading all the different blogs and still read about a handful of them daily, I knew it was time to get my thoughts out there.
Anna’s Eats takes a look at juggling healthy eating with a busy schedule. Breakfasts and lunches are usually something quick and easy. If they are portable that’s even better since I’m a working girl. Most of my weekday lunches are eaten at my desk often on a paper towel! This is real life here
When I have extra time I like to bake or make a more extravagant dinner! I also TRY to be good about doing some form of exercise each day. When there is no time for a formal workout I get creative. Three roundtrips from my desk to the cafeteria at work is 1 mile!!
I almost forgot to mention that I have a few (well maybe more than a few!) food allergies that makes all this a little more of an ADVENTURE! I can’t just order quickly off of any menu. I always ask at least 3-4 questions about the ingredients and how the food is prepared. Grabbing a quick slice of pizza or a yogurt with fruit is not in the cards for me. I have to be much more careful than that!
My first food allergy came before I was a year old- milk! The next one came at about age 4- chocolate! And ever since the list of foods I am allergic to has grown. After a few “tests” I learned in a not so pleasant way that I have not grown out of my many allergies and have come to accept that at this point, being 31- years- old, it’s very unlikely that they will one day just disappear.
It is almost always necessary to avoid the foods you are allergic to, so everyday it’s an adventure of trying to find different foods that I can EAT to ward off the boredom. Of course you will see some of the same foods over and over again on this blog. It’s just safe and requires no thought especially when life gets a little hectic.
I hope you find some quick and healthy EATS and tips through this blog for when your life gets a little crazed. And, if you have allergies too, know that you can still eat a variety of healthy foods and treats while getting the recommended vitamins and minerals into your daily diet. You just have to be a little inventive!
You won’t find me eating pizza with cheese, pouring milk into my cereal or topping ice cream with berries for dessert. There will be no chocolate pick-me-ups, walnuts in my carrot cake, peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches or visits to seafood restaurants- even though I live in New England! Meats and vegetables cannot be cooked on the same grill or fried in the same oil as fish or seafood when eating at restaurants. When ordering sandwiches “Hold the cheese and mustard instead of mayo please” is always my motto. I bet you are wondering “What does she eat?” That’s where Anna’s Eats comes in….

Would you chance to know if it’s's safe to lift weights while making an attempt to lose weight? I have made it my new years resolution so I’m trying to stick with it.
