What a hectic two days it has been! Work is in its “busiest” season and has been a bit crazy lately. Yesterday I had a meeting over lunch so I couldn’t snap a pic of my EATS. I can tell you what I ate though, which isn’t nearly as exciting as a pic but will have to do! I had a salad (greens, tomato, cucumber and onion) with grilled chicken and light Italian dressing on the side from a local restaurant. A mini bag of microwave popcorn was my afternoon snack.

After work I went to John’s. We made quick egg sandwiches for dinner before doing yet another fantasy football draft. The draft started at 10:30pm and we didn’t finish until midnight so I was pretty tired this morning. It was a lot of fun though and I can’t wait for the season to start!

You can see the draft happening on my computer screen. Everyone gets 1 minute and 30 seconds to make their pick  in each round of the draft so I was anxiously awaiting my turn deciding what player to choose.

My draft cheat sheets with the player rankings were a big help!

Oh and of course the egg sandwich. I sliced up a tomato and had some ketchup on mine. I also had some potato chips.

Today’s EATS…

I was running late this morning so this cereal I had in my car came in handy! Does anyone else keep snacks in their cars? I’m always in my car going somewhere so I sometimes keep some snacks in there for days like today. I ate the cereal, but not the rice milk. I just wasn’t in the mood for it!

Lunch was a turkey and hummus sandwich on a potato roll eaten at my desk. I also had some canned peaches that I had at my desk (yes, I keep snacks at my desk too!) and a bag of baked potato chips from the caferteria.

This chip bag was larger than normal, but was only 1/4 filled with about 12 chips in it. When I first opened the bag it looked like someone already ate half of it!

A banana was this afternoon’s snack.

By the time I got home tonight I was exhausted and a little cranky! I didn’t sleep much last night and had a really busy day. I decided to skip the workout I had planned on doing and save it for the morning instead when I’m wide awake with lots of energy!

For dinner I had a hamburger sauteed with onion and mushrooms and sweet potato fries. I went bunless on the burger, but was still hungry after dinner so I toasted up a potato roll and ate it plain. It was still good though and hit the spot!

Dessert was a slice of poundcake with coolwhip on top. I ate it before I could take a photo. Guess I was still hungry!

I’m off to relax now… TGIAF!!!

Boring. Little. Bites. That  should really be the name of my blog for the next couple of weeks!

If you haven’t noticed, I have not had a salad or any veggies in the past several days. And there has been no fresh fruit either. Since this is supposed to be a blog of mostly healthy foods I feel like I have some explaining to do! Here’s the reasoning behind my EATS lately… I have mentioned in other posts that I have some stomach issues and have been told by my doctor to eat a bland diet. My stomach creates too much acid all the time and it is acting up again so I have some tests scheduled for next week. Breads, cereal and pasta seem to make me feel the best right now and keep the acid in check. Veggies and fresh fruit are making my stomach worse so I am staying away from them for a short while. I have also been told to eat small, light meals throughout the day instead on 3 larger ones so there will be lots of “little bites” in the coming days.

My LUNCH BITES…

A ham sandwich on rye bread with mustard and a fruit cup.

I ate most of the fruit cup before remembering to take a picture. I guess I was really hungry since I had a really light mid-morning snack of just some plain applesauce. I packed a half of turkey sandwich and some chips to dip in hummus for the afternoon because I know I am going to be super hungry after this small lunch.

Where do you eat your lunch?

Most weekdays I eat lunch in my work cafeteria or at my desk.

I wish I lived close enough to work so I could go home during my lunch break. How nice would a home cooked lunch everyday be?

Here are my lunch EATS in the order I ate them:

Pretzel Goldfish I started snacking on these around 10:30am and ended up having 1 serving.

Around 12:15pm I had a turkey sandwich on a potato roll with tomato and mustard.

A little while later I snacked on a fruit cup (peaches, pears and pineapple).

Not terribly exciting, but it was quick and easy to pack up for work and to EAT on a busy day! Fresh fruit would have been a better option, but fruit cups are good to keep at your desk for an emergency snack since they don’t spoil. I only buy the fruit cups in light or natural juices. The fruit that comes in heavy syrup contains more sugar and are too sweet for my liking.

Do you keep snacks at your desk? What kind?
